Sun City Grand, Surprise Arizona

Sun City Grand, it’s everywhere that you always wanted to be. It is one of the proudest of Del Webb’s master-planned communities for active adults. The rules make sure that you have to be age 55 or better to be included in this fun. Sun City Grand is smaller in size than either Sun City or Sun City West - but they went all out on this one to make something special for their residents.

After the completion of the popular Sun City West community in 1996, Del Webb Corporation began construction of Sun City Grand. Like the previous Sun City and Sun City West, Sun City Grand was designed around the notion that active adults should be able to live in an entirely self-contained community with access to nearly every imaginable amenity.

What characterizes the Sun City Grand lifestyle most are the residents and the collection of special clubs and organizations, which are formed as the community grows. If you are looking for an active adult community for adults 55 and better, Sun City Grand is the only place for you.

Sun City Grand Amenities & Lifestyle

In fact, Sun City Grand offers all of the recreational opportunities you’ve come to expect at a Sun City. When you think about it, life at Sun City Grand is something like life in a small village. The lazy days spent strolling around the park, the brass band playing in the gazebo and the times we will always remember- like a never-ending movie, the picture always playing in our minds.

The Village Center is the recreational focal point of all activity in the community. It has a beautifully landscaped courtyard and cascading waterfalls that provide a serene setting to mingle with neighbors and attend community events. The Sonoran Plaza Social Hall at the Village Center features a 9,000 square foot grand ballroom, meeting room and multi-purpose hobby and craft studios.

Sun City Grand Golf

The first thing you will see when you turn into Sun City Grand is the green fairways and crystal clear lakes of the Desert Springs and Granite Falls Golf Courses. Both of these courses were designed by PGA Hall-of-Fame Player Billy Casper and nationally renowned golf course architect Greg Nash, so you know that it’s going to be good. So don’t let the beauty of the courses make you think that they are not challenging as well. Both 18-hole championship courses were designed to accommodate players of all skill levels. Multiple tee placements alter the landscape of each hole by adding yardage and often require a more accurate tee shot.

Deep, wide greens make it possible to vary the difficulty of pin placement. And those beautiful lakes, all 40 acres of them, come into play again and again. Residents of Sun City Grand are able to play Desert Springs and Granite Falls at reduced daily green fees. Just purchase the annual golf membership. The fee includes private cart trail fee, green fees, eight-day advance tee-time reservations and more.

Sun City Grand Homes & Real Estate

Del Webb offered over 50 floor plans in Sun City Grand. The community sold out of new construction homes in 2004 but a continually changing lineup of pre-owned resale homes are available. Home buyers can choose from a variety of condos, villas and single family homes that range in size from 805 to nearly 3,000 square feet. Some buyers favor the homes in Sun City Grand over the previous Sun City communities due to their more modern floor plan designs and desirable finishes. The upgraded homes come at a premium and are generally more expensive than comparably sized homes in Sun City or Sun City West.
