The Motors and Meals community fundraising event Oct. 20 raised approximately $30,000 for the nonprofit Northwest Valley Connect, whose mission is to provide transportation services for homebound seniors, the disabled and veterans throughout the Northwest Valley.
The event attracted nearly 700 people, more than doubling last year’s attendance, and featured a classic car show organized by the Auto Restoration Club of Sun City West, beer and wine garden, farmers market, local entertainment, contests, and a raffle.
“The 2019 Motors & Meals event was a wonderful success thanks to the dedicated event staff and volunteers from Northwest Valley Connect (NVC) and our partner organizations,” Jennifer Drago, board treasurer for NVC and chief strategy officer for Sun Health, the event’s major sponsor, stated. “As a founding partner of NVC, Sun Health is grateful to the community for their support of the organization and the critical transportation resources it provides.”
Event sponsors included Sun Health, AARP, APS, Benevilla, Independent Newspapers, the Kellam Foundation, Western Efficient Energy, Desert Diamond Casino, Home Instead Senior Care, Parks & Sons and Recreation Centers of Sun City West.
