The Motors and Meals event scheduled for noon-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, promised something for every interest—and it will raise money for a charity. The event will be at Beardsley Park, 20011 128th Ave.
All event proceeds will be given to Northwest Valley Connect, a nonprofit transportation provider. NVC provides mobility to homebound seniors and the disabled in the Northwest Valley. Last year, NVC provided more than 12,000 rides to residents without access to vehicles or public transportation.
Event activities include a collector’s car show, farmers market, beer, and wine garden, contests, food trucks, local vendors, music and local entertainment. Contests include bubble gum blowing, hula-hoop, mini-golf hole-in-one, and the best costume, with prizes awarded.
Entertainment will feature the Nani Komohana Tutus Hula Dancers, the Rhythm Tappers, Lilac Crazy Female Comedy Quartet, Tremble Clefs Barbershop Quartet, guitarist Eric Benson, vocalist Cora Weaver, and vocal trio Sentimental Journey.
Event sponsors include Sun Health, AARP, APS, Benevilla, Desert Diamond Casino, Home Instead Senior Care, Independent Newspapers, the Kellam Foundation, Parks & Sons, Western Efficient Energy and Recreation Centers of Sun City West
