Here’s the latest update from Sun City Festival in Buckeye, Arizona:
It’s been quite the roller coaster ride since the end of March, as I’m sure you can agree. Here at Festival, we went from selling 50 homes in February down to a whopping 9 homes in April. ☹ May was a pleasant surprise bringing us back up to 30 home sales…..June came in around 20 and we’re currently selling over a home per day in July. I would say that 20 to 25 homes sales is typical for us in the summer months. The Sales office and Model homes are open, with no surprise that we’re getting many visitors from California, Washington, Oregon, Illinois, etc. Unfortunately we still cannot book Vacation Villa stays quite yet. We’ll keep you posted when we start accepting reservations again.
I was holding my breath wondering if home prices would drop when Co-Vid hit, but that did not happen. We took a $2,000 price increase in June and another $1,000 increase for July. Considering that over 40% of our Active Adults pay Cash for their homes and the rest are tickled about the low interest rates…….folks continue to move forward.
